West wilts men's 3 finally found themselves on familiar ground after several matches away from home West wilts had their first home game of season. Set to a be a challenging game from the start as West wilts hosted a Wotton Bassett side that started their season in style by wining their first game
7-1. From the start wotton applied great pressure and had Wilts on the back foot striaght away, although their was great play from the backs and midfield to clear the ball and give the defence some breathing room it was halted with the yet another attack from Wotton, with great defending from Jake Parker and Tim millburn quickly saw a Wotton attack halted and wilts soon going on the offensive, some great instinctive passing from Chris westcott and Josh Cantrell soon had wilts within striking distance of the Bassett goal, a quick fired pass from Liam found wilts with their first short corner. A great shot from Jake found itself in the back of the net sadly ruled out as it was above the back board on the first strike at goal. With Wotton on the offensive again IP stepped in to prevent them reaching the defence, some clever skill and a great weighted pass quickly had Josh away, wilts win another short corner, this time Josh Cantrell finds the net, wilts lead 1-0 going into the break.
