Match Report

A tough start to the season saw travelling Wilts on the back foot for large parts of the first half. Leo Barker and his defence were kept busy, but proving stubborn as Cheltenham pressed for the first goal. That goal came late in the half as squeezed one past the Wilts keeper and past Ben Creedy on the line.

The encouraging words from Coach Mark Brothers at half time, helped Wilts to show more fight and attacking intent as they looked to get back into the game. As Wilts attacked the opposition D, they left themselves vulnerable to quick Cheltenham breaks, which they duly capatilised on.

5-0 represented a harsh scoreline for Wilts, but my the same token a tough, early lesson on the standards they will face in this league. Wilts will be looking to bounce back next week at home vs Isca  A.
