Match Report | Wilts hosted Isca A this week - looking to bounce back from last weeks poor result, at their favoured home pitch. A bright start from the travelling side, resulted in them taking an early lead with a smart finish low to the Wilts keepers left. A much needed response from the home side duly arrived as they started to dominate the half, creating several good chances but just lacked that final killer instinct. Pressure eventually came off, as Sha Aissaoui eventually stopped kicking the ball and fired a delicious ball into the Isca D, where Matt Elloway deflected it goal bound and pulled Wilts level going into the break. As the second half started, both teams had clearly been watching the mornings World Cup Rugby as cards were dished out for poor discipline. Both teams wasted decent chances to pull clear, but as the game looked to be heading for a 1-1 draw, a mix up in the Wilts D saw the ball squirm clear for the Isca forward to fire them ahead late on. With minutes left on the clock, Wilts won a final short corner that somehow fell to Mr Alopecia (Nick Lemon) who reversed it home to make it 2-2. A fair result for both teams and a much improved performance from Wilts. Man of the Match - Jacob Milburn |
