Match Report | Wilts hosted their second game of the weekend and played Wooten Basset - the only team to beat Wilts in the first half of the season. The previous defeat seemed to be motivation enough for Wilts to fly out of the gates. Wilts started hard and fast once again, having the lions share of possession in the Basset half. They were able to create chance after chance but unfortunately only converted a handful of them. Wilts were lacking some of the basic skills in the oppo ‘D’ - missed passes and ‘mis-traps’ of the ball - meaning they only capitalised on a small portion of them. That said, Wilts still managed to score 5 goals in the game and only conceded the 1 on the break. Another day Wilts would potentially have been more dominant in terms of goal difference, but 5-1 is a good result and the target of 6 points this weekend was fulfilled. Scorers: James Baker (2), Toby Dorgan (1), Hugh Newmarch (1), Joe Veacock (1) |
